According to Salon.com the Dean campaign has about 3 million in the bank but also owes another three million.
According to staffers, Dean held a meeting with campaign workers in which he announced that there was no money to pay staff at the beginning of February. He said that the campaign had $3 million in the bank, but that it had also racked up $3 million in debt that needed to be paid off. A senior aide confirmed the meeting, but not the numbers in question.
Makes sense that the senior staffer wouldn't confirm the numbers, after all they aren't good for Dean.
Meanwhile Clark is rumored to have around 10 mil in the bank and I have no clue what Kerry and Edwards have. Anyone know?

Anyway, it seems likely that this is ture and if it is it totally negates Dean's 50-state strategy. Also, his campaign won't be able to rely on a big money cushion to coast on to greener pastures after the Feb 3rd votes.
If true this is really bad for Dean, really bad.
